Organisation
The Policy Research Centre Mobility & Public Works, track Traffic Safety is one of 14 Flemish Research Centres for policy relevant research and consists of two thematic tracks: “Freight Flows” and “Traffic Safety”.
The Research Centres for Policy Relevant Research support the Flemish government by carrying out scientific policy research on top priority policy themes. For more information on the Policy Research Centres, click here (only in Dutch).
The Policy Research Centres were established as interuniversity collaborations of research groups and institutions.
The Policy Research Centre’s activities are:
- Collecting, analyzing and disseminating data (also on a longitudinal level)
- Carrying out scientific research concerning specific problems (short-term)
- Carrying out policy relevant scientific research which is relevant to the Flemish policy on a longer term
- Providing scientific support
The specific goals of the Policy Research Centre Mobility & Public Works, track Traffic Safety are:
- Data collection
- Short-term research on various policy matters
- More fundamental scientific research on the subject of traffic safety
